It’s a new year and that means for some professionals on the pro circuit a new set of sticks that may (or may not) give them new luck out there on the course.
Rory McIlroy is the big name of the rank to make the switch as he is more a victim than a willing partcipant as Nike decided to flick the switch on making clubs and balls moving forward. After many famous years backing Tiger Woods and then signing on Rory recently too. However now McIlroy has a mix of Callaway woods and drivers with Titleist wedges. The putter is one of Odyssy’s prototype models and looks really good. He is also playing with a Titleist ball.
Jason Day has done the reverse in signing on with Nike, but only for clothing and attire. He will be fully decked out from head to toe in Nike gear. He is still have his reliable TaylorMade‘s in the bag.
Daniel Berger has made the switcharoo from TaylorMade however moving onto Callaways. Not only that, he has changed his clothing sponsors too moving onto Lacoste now for his game kit. It will be a big change for Daniel who says he as never switch away from TaylorMade clubs since he was a very young golfer.
Bubba Waston will stick to using Volvik golf balls despite attempts by Titleist to woo him over to the Pro V1x. However Bubba has publiclly stated he doesn’t see that much of a difference in the balls to make the switch over worth it. However, we at 1NHC believe that Titleist just haven’t offered him the right amount of money to make the switch over.
Another big name player has also taken a shine to the Nike appeal, Harris English is now looking slick in his new Nike gear. Not only that he changed his clubs over to Ping, stepping away from long time sponsor Callaway.
