Golf Darts

If youre both a golf and a darts fan, then youve probably heard of the game Golf Darts by now. In fact, maybe youve already played it with good tungsten darts too. However, for the sake of those who dont know and are not aware of how to play this, then well certainly have to discuss the basics of this game. To get started, heres what you need to know:

The Basics

The game is literally just like how you play darts and golf. Its a combination of both the sport and the pub game that it makes it one of the most interesting and fun activities to do. While its a combination of both, the majority of the game leans more on the darts.

The Objective of the Game

The goal of the game is simple. Just like in golf, the players will have to complete the existing holes with as few shots that they can manage. The game is ideally played with two or more players. They will take turns in completing a hole. The player with the lowest score will be declared as the winner after completing 9 to 18 holes, depending on whats agreed on before the start of the game.

The Scoring

As mentioned above, the players will decide on either 9 or 18 holes. Once decided, the scoreboard should be prepared. A scorer is ideal to have so that he can take note of each players scores while theyre at it. Every hole played will be marked by the scorer.

For the hole ratings, the doubles ring is considered one hole while the triples ring counts as two strokes. In addition, the thin wedges located in between the triples ring and the bullseye are considered three strokes while the thick wedges located in between the triples and doubles ring are considered four strokes. If a player misses, it will be considered five strokes something you wouldnt want to get since youre aiming to have the lowest score at the end of the game.

How Gold Darts is Played

For each player, they will get a chance to throw 3 darts. A player can choose how many times hed like to throw the dart but only for a maximum of three tries. However, the last throw would always be the basis for the scoring. Hence, if hes not satisfied with the fist throw, he can go for a second and a third one, but theres a risk. Thus, its always ideal to not throw in all your darts unless youre confident that youll get a better score than your first of second throws.

Each player will take turns until they finish a hole. Once done, they can proceed to the next until the game is over. As mentioned earlier, the winner will then be determined based on the lowest scores taken. By this point, the scorer will have to add all the points of each player to determine the champion.

If youre bored with your usual game of darts and would love to add a touch of golf into it, then this game is totally for you.
